Univar Announce New Addition to European Management Team
Karel Gerritsen has been appointed to the European Management Team of Univar. Before joining Univar in January 2003 as IT Manager for Europe, Gerritsen held a number of IT management positions with the Unilever Group, most recently as International IT manager for Bestfoods Europe.
Gerritsen’s responsibilities with Univar include the management and upgrading of ERP systems across the local Univar businesses throughout Europe, as well as improving information management systems to ensure essential information is available to the European-wide organisation easily and efficiently.
Gerritsen is based at the Univar NV head office in Rotterdam, and reports directly to John Phillpotts, President Univar Europe. Commenting on the new appointment John Phillpotts said: “We are delighted to have attracted a professional of Karel’s calibre and expertise to head up our IT programme in Europe. IT continues to be an integral element of our business strategy and Karel’s appointment to our Senior Management Team is a logical step forward.”
