SABIC certified as ‘Top Employer Europe 2016’ for third consecutive year

SABIC also Top Employer in the Netherlands for 10th consecutive time and 3rd consecutive year in the UK, Spain, Italy, Belgium and Germany

Sittard, The Netherlands, March 2, 2016 - Chemical company SABIC has been awarded the ‘Top Employer Europe Award 2016’ for the third consecutive year, for its excellent employment practices throughout the Europe region. The certification is based on research by the international Top Employers Institute and auditing firm Grant Thornton, recognising SABIC’s continuous focus on excellent HR practices. The award was presented on 25 February 2016 at an official dinner ceremony in Amsterdam.

Accreditation for HR Management

The ‘Top Employers’ certification follows a rigorous process, including an audit by Grant Thornton, and comprehensively evaluates the participating company’s human resource processes and practices against the highest standards among employers. The specific benchmarked areas are talent management, compensation and benefits, learning and development, workforce planning, onboarding programs, performance management, leadership development, career and succession management, and culture management. The results help the employers to further refine their HR standards, and create a top quality working environment for their employees, where they can excel. SABIC’s participation in this benchmarking also underscores SABIC’s ambition to be an employer of choice in the chemical industry.

Eduardo Perez-Cejuela, Sr Director HR Europe at SABIC, commented, “I am thrilled with this recognition. SABIC’s goal is to have HR processes which can act as enablers for our ongoing culture transformation to position SABIC as a preferred employer in the Chemical industry. The benchmarking and results of this award are key to achieve that ambition.”

SABIC was also recognised as a ‘Top Employer’ in the Netherlands for the 10th consecutive time, and for the third time in the UK, Spain, Italy, Belgium and Germany, as well as a ‘Top Employer’ in Asia Pacific, including China, India, Japan, South Korea and Singapore. This certification across the company demonstrates SABIC’s commitment to its employees and their professional development. More information: www.top-employers.com.
