SABIC once again awarded Top Employer 2013 in the Netherlands

Seventh time in a row

SITTARD, The Netherlands, March 06, 2013 - On March 4, 2013, SABIC received the Top Employers 2013 Award in the Netherlands for the seventh time in a row. The CRF Institute identifies leaders in the field of HR and awarded this prize to SABIC after carrying out in-depth and independent research. The award recognizes SABIC's vision to be a market leader in the field of chemistry, in which top employership is a core theme. This award also affirms SABIC’s structural commitment to HR policy, leadership and strategy. The prize was awarded during an evening of celebration at the Okura Hotel in Amsterdam, together with the prizes awarded to other nominees.

Top Employers Award 2013

The CRF Institute focuses upon independently assessing and recognizing HR policy in a range of countries. The top employers are selected following meticulous research by accountancy firm Grant Thornton, among others. HR policy, including employee benefits, working conditions, training and development, career opportunities and organizational culture, are all considered during the assessment process. This year, the prize was awarded to 54 employers. The Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs affirms the qualitative and independent way of working.

SABIC Top Employer for talent

Wim Dufourné, HR Director for Europe at SABIC, explains: “This award reflects our ambition to be the Employer of Choice within the chemical industry. We are an international chemical company with an ambitious growth target and talented people are crucial. It is not easy to attract and retain good people. In order to achieve this, you need a structural HR policy that is based on a long-term vision. I am happy with this award because it affirms that SABIC is a Top Employer — incidentally not just in the Netherlands, but also in other countries such as China, where SABIC has already received the award for three years.”

Dufourné adds: “Becoming a top employer is a real honor and remaining a Top Employer is a challenge that we are happy to accept. Every year the competition gets stronger and that gives us the energy we need to continuously improve.”

Boudewijn de Heer, European Recruitment & Staffing Leader at SABIC, explains: “We have now won this Top Employer award in the Netherlands a few years in a row. We are proud of this achievement, as we have only been on the Dutch market since 2002, which is a relatively short period of time. We have a lot to offer talented people, including in the field of personal and professional development. We also expect our 40,000 employees to manage their own career and to collaborate on innovative solutions with customers in the chemical industry.”
