Rohm and Haas Appoints New China President
Promoting local talent to senior role, in line with Company’s Vision 2010 Strategy in China
Shanghai, China, February 18, 2008 –Rohm and Haas Company (NYSE:ROH) announces today that Du Hua is appointed as Rohm and Haas China President, based in the company’s China Research Development Center (CRDC) in Shanghai. Du Hua is also appointed a Vice President of the company and a member of its global Leadership Council. He is transitioning to his new responsibilities immediately.
This is another move by the world’s leading specialty materials company to raise its visibility in its global business operations and commitment to grow its investment, business portfolio, and commitment to the China market.
"Joining Rohm and Haas as China Manager of the Dongguan facility in January 1998, Du Hua has been working for Rohm and Haas for about 10 years now. During the past decade, he showed his talent skills in people management and business insights. We believe that his outstanding business management experience can be used to achieve Rohm and Haas’s corporate vision and goals in China,” Mark Douglas, Asia Pacific President, declared. “The decision reflects the important goal for Asia, which is to develop and promote our talented local leaders to the senior executive position in this region.”
This new position will be an addition to his current responsibilities Asia General Manager –of the company’s Circuit Board Technologies (CBT) business. Hua Du holds a Bachelor degree in Chemistry from Beijing University, and a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, USA.
