Pallmann expands operations for servicing size reduction equipment in North America
Zweibrücken, Germany (13 May 2015) – PALLMANN Group, one of the world's largest developers and producers of innovative size reduction technologies, has upgraded its service center for North American customers, located just outside Charlotte, North Carolina. Pallmann, which produces machines and systems in different locations around the world for the wood processing, plastics, pharmaceutical, chemical and general recycling industries, can now locally repair and rebuild even bigger wear parts from its various ranges in North America. Costs and turn-around times are considerably reduced.
“We are now in a position to recondition even bigger wear parts at the Charlotte service center,” says Rolf Gren, General Manager Pallmann Industries USA. “All our customers in the USA, Canada and Mexico can benefit from the advantages that this upgrade provides. Our customers in the wood industry are especially thankful for the fast and accurate service we now can provide.”
Pallmann recommends that PZU knife rings are thoroughly checked for wear or possible damage at least every two years. Depending on its condition, a rebuild maybe necessary. Until now, that has required shipping the ring back to Pallmann’s main manufacturing plant in Zweibrucken. “Now the work can be done just as well here in Charlotte, more quickly, and without the transatlantic freight costs,” says Rolf Gren. “We have a dedicated team of factory trained service technicians permanently stationed here.”
To keep repair times to a minimum, Pallmann offers users of its PZU strander a special rebuild package, under which the knife ring is first inspected while still in the strander, three months prior to the scheduled knife ring change. Any required spare parts are shipped to the Charlotte service center ahead of time, so that once the ring arrives, work can start work immediately.
