Multibase, a Dow Corning Company Announces Nylex™ for Exterior Automotive Application
CHICAGO, IL (June 22, 2003)—Multibase, a Dow Corning Company announces that Nylex™ 2185 HF UV has replaced talc-filled TPO for a cowl screen for an automotive OEM. Nylex 2185 HF UV is an alloy based on PP/PA chemistry offering greater strength with easier processability at a competitive cost than the alternative TPO used for this application. Additional benefits of this product are excellent resistance to abrasion, easy colorability, and UV resistance. Nylex grades feature melt flows from 0.6 to 11.0 grams per 10 minutes (cond. “L”.) They provide 1500-6500 psi tensile strength, unfilled and flexural modulus of up to 300,000 psi.
