Moog Plans to End Production of Radial Piston Pumps in Nuremberg

East Aurora, NY, USA, September 15, 2023 – Moog Inc (NYSE: MOG.A and MOG.B) announced today that it plans to discontinue the production of its Radial Piston Pumps (RKP pump) in Nuremberg, Germany by the end of 2026.

For more than 20 years, the name "RKP" – Radial Piston Pumps from Moog – has been synonymous with reliability and performance in demanding industrial applications. However, technology and markets have also evolved during this time and all the data clearly shows that RKP is now in the final phase of its product life cycle.

Moog therefore plans to discontinue RKP production in Nuremberg over the next three years and close this production plant at the end of 2026. This action aligns with our recent Investor Day announcement in regard to footprint rationalization and an overall consolidation of global company sites.

As a replacement for the RKP, a new generation of piston pump is under development and will be available from 2024. The development and production will take place at Moog's largest German site in Boeblingen.

Moog is very aware of the implications of this decision for employees at the Nuremberg site and has only made it after careful consideration and with a heavy heart. In more than two decades, Moog Nuremberg, with its current 59 employees, has become an integral part of the Moog global footprint. Unfortunately, however, there is no economically viable and sustainable alternative to the planned plant closure. Moog will consult the planned measures with the works council Nuremberg.
