KRAIBURG TPE is setting new standards in applications with food contact

The new compounds from the FC/CM1 and FC/CM2 THERMOLAST® K series meet the highest standards for controlled migration behavior of plastics with food contact and are suitable for applications such as reusable lunch boxes, shakers, dosing valves and resealable bowls, etc.
(Image: © 2019 KRAIBURG TPE)With its two new compound series, FC/CM1 and FC/CM2, KRAIBURG TPE meets the most important set of rules on applications with food contact: Commission Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 and Code of Federal Regulations Title 21 (21CFR) of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). These new series have been especially developed for applications with food contact and additionally provide pleasant touch characteristics and enhanced organoleptic properties. The target applications include reusable packaging, dosing valves and food dispensers.

(Photo: Mondi, PR136)Leading global packaging and paper group Mondi, in cooperation with chemical producer BASF and COROOS, one of the biggest European companies in the preservation of fruits, vegetables and pulses for premium A-brands and private label products, have cooperated on a state-of-the-art pilot project. Together they produced a stand-up pouch that is safe for food contact partly made with raw material which was derived from chemically recycled plastic. Until now, recycling plastic has chiefly been mechanical, limiting the scope of plastics that can be recycled and limiting the number of products that can be created with recycled material, in particular for the strict legal European regulations in place for food packaging.

Individual solutions for filter manufacturing from a single source

(Photo: Sonderhoff, PR077)For the first time, Henkel and Sonderhoff are presenting their filter manufacturing products on a joint stand at FILTECH 2019. Henkel offers the world's widest range of adhesives and sealants as well as products for surface treatment. Sonderhoff, which has been part of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA since 2017, is a system provider for materials, machines and contract manufacturing. This means that users can benefit from highly effective customized solutions for the entire filter production system from a single source. The result is an improvement in solutions that raise efficiency in filter manufacturing as well as uprating the functions and quality of the filters themselves.
