The recent approval for use of Dyneema® fibers in gloves for the food processing industry1 has now commercially been adopted by the market. In the new, highly cut resistant Tuffshield Evolution™ gloves from Perfect Fit, a brand of the Bacou-Dalloz group, the ultra strong fiber from DSM is used in a new, patented composite yarn which combines level five cut resistance with anti-bacterial performance. The official market introduction of Tuffshield Evolution™ with Dyneema® takes place at the Expoprotection trade show in Paris, November 7-10, 2006.

Dyneema®, the world's strongest fiber™, has become a material of choice for protective gloves in many industrial segments by offering both comfort and protection. The new Tuffshield Evolution™ cut resistant gloves from Perfect Fit Glove, a leading brand in the hand protection market, are available in a variety of sizes and three basic models (light, medium and heavy) for all types of applications. All three are made of a new patented composite yarn with Dyneema®.

The result is a very high level of cut resistance (five), anti-bacterial performance, strength, durability and breathability. The ergonomic seamless design of the gloves, combined with the extreme flexibility of the yarn provide for a high dexterity level.

“The Tuffshield Evolution™ glove is a clear result of our strengthened partnerships in the cut resistance market through the Dyneema® licensing program. Dyneema® fiber obtaining food processing approval1 was a major development for our business model. Now that it is has been declared safe for use in this industry1, we are able to pursue new segments for Dyneema® in cut resistance by working closely with innovative partners such as Bacou-Dalloz,” declared Robert Smulders, Vice President Marketing & Sales for DSM Dyneema.
