See the ICEhouse™ in Davos - World Economic Forum

The ICEhouse™ represents how structures can easily be built, disassembled and reused with advanced materials supporting the circular economy.

The ICEhouse™ – where ICE stands for Innovation for the Circular Economy – was designed and built by globally recognized architect William McDonough and his companies, in close collaboration with SABIC, a global leader in diversified chemicals.

The structure was first used at the 2016 Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, to host meetings of some of the world’s most influential politicians, entrepreneurs and CEOs and has been rebuilt for the second time for the 2017 event.

The ICEhouse™ is built using a cutting-edge aluminium frame structure and several forms of SABIC materials for windows, wall cladding, ceiling, floor panels and chords. It’s an excellent example of how SABIC’s advanced material solutions, and innovative designs from a world-leading architect, can lead sustainable designs in the construction market.

Come visit us in Davos and let us know if you are interested in a short tour of the structure by return email:
