Integrated, interactive and intelligent automation
Innovation by automation enabling innovation in manufacturing

Hoofddorp (NL), 24/4/2017 - Global industrial automation leader Omron has captured the future of manufacturing in an advanced i-Automation innovation concept that is based on Omron's 3i's: integrated, intelligent and interactive. At Hannover Messe 2017 these concepts will be featured in Omron's booth and showcased in live demonstrations. A prominent place is devoted to Omron's smart collaborative tutor robot Forpheus. The GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® certified table tennis robot will play and train visitors at the fair demonstrating Omron's leading Sensing & Control +Think technologies.

The future when mankind and machines are reconciled

Hoofddorp (NL), 24-04-2017 - To showcase Omron’s advanced technologies, the 3rd generation of FORPHEUS is featured at the Hannover Messe 2017. The friendly and smart table tennis collaborative robot has become a whole lot smarter since last year. Omron has given FORPHEUS the ability to interpret, predict, learn, think, act, connect and communicate with humans. Seven amazing technologies that make it possible for FORPHEUS to actually tutor humans.

Omron Develops AI-Equipped Machine Automation Controller

Omron Corporation (HQ: Shimogyo-Ku, Kyoto. CEO: Yoshihito Yamada) announced today the development of a machine automation controller equipped with a machine learning artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm. The first of its kind in the industry, this AI-equipped controller achieves real-time integration between the programmable logic controller function, which controls production lines and equipment changing in microseconds on factory floors, and the AI processing function. Using Omron’s extensive range of sensors to monitor the status of equipment and processes, the controller safely regulates theme before an irregularity can occur by predicting unusual movements of machinery based on the causal model that the built-in AI has been made to learn.

Omron to Launch Succession of AI-Equipped Controllers from Fiscal Year 2017

Omron Corporation (HQ: Shimogyo-Ku, Kyoto. CEO: Yoshihito Yamada) has announced its plan to successively incorporate artificial intelligence (AI),/ internet of things (IoT) technologies into its factory automation (FA) equipment up to 2020 in a bid to offer solutions to the social issues facing many manufacturing businesses, such as the shortage of skilled engineers and rise of labor costs.

Next generation of temperature controllers embrace the era of AI

Omron’s E5_C series substantially raised the bar for temperature control in the past five years thanks to its user-friendliness, high precision and highly reliable control. Now, the E5_D series - the next generation of controllers built on the successful E5_C platform - is designed to achieve optimal and automatic temperature control without human intervention. In fact, from now on all typical adjustments made in the field by experts are automated using Artificial Intelligence (A.I.). The E5_D is based on the E5_C platform so the basic features are the same (50msec control period, universal inputs measurements Thermocouples/Pt100/linear, and more) but with a draw-out structure to make maintenance even easier.
